Facilities

Does Jaz Creek have indoor and outdoor riding arenas?

Yes: a 100′ × 200′ covered arena and a 165′ × 270′ outdoor arena. Both have footing designed for all-weather use and for hunter/jumpers as well as dressage.

How big is the covered arena?

The covered complex is 30,000 square feet and includes a 100′ × 200′ riding arena plus stalls, wash racks, crossties, tack rooms, offices and feed rooms. The arena is enclosed on two sides, so it stays rideable in wind and rain.

Does Jaz Creek have a horse walker (Eurociser)?

Yes. We have a 68-foot, five-horse Centaur Free-Flow Equineciser, used for conditioning between rides, for horses not in work, and for controlled rehabilitation.

What footing do the arenas have?

The covered arena has a sand-and-textile mix that was fully overhauled in 2025. The outdoor arena uses a custom sand blend designed for hunter/jumpers and year-round use.

How many stalls are there, and what size?

40 stalls: 16 in our custom barn and 24 around the covered arena. Most are 12′ × 12′, with a limited number of 12′ × 16′.

Do the stalls have automatic waterers?

Yes, every stall has an automatic waterer.

Are the paddocks and turnouts all-weather?

Most are. Good drainage, rolling ground and all-weather footing keep most paddocks usable year-round, even after heavy rain.

Are there trails for hacking?

Yes. There’s a one-mile hill fitness track and more trails for hacking out.

Why Jaz Creek

What makes Jaz Creek different from other Petaluma boarding barns?

Jaz Creek was completely rebuilt in 2022. It has a 100′ × 200′ covered arena enclosed on two sides, a 165′ × 270′ jumping arena, a five-horse Equineciser, a round pen, a one-mile fitness track, all-weather turnout, and full foaling and retiree care, at a barn small enough to know every horse.

Are there boarding barns with covered arenas near Petaluma?

Yes. Jaz Creek’s 100′ × 200′ covered arena is enclosed on two sides, so it keeps footing consistent and blocks wind even in winter storms.

Where can I board my horse near Petaluma?

Jaz Creek is at 3392 Roblar Road, west of Cotati, about 20 min from downtown Petaluma and under 10 min from Highway 101. Call (415) 716-8905 to schedule a tour.

Why board at Jaz Creek instead of other Sonoma County facilities?

Because we love and care about horses, and know each one individually. The modern facilities don’t hurt either.
